At Bluewater Vet, we are proud to be the first veterinary clinic in Singapore to offer airflow cryotherapy. This innovative treatment is designed to support your pet’s recovery, reduce pain, and promote healing through the power of cold therapy.
Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses cold temperatures to help reduce inflammation and pain. Using the BTL airflow cryotherapy machine, we direct a controlled stream of cold air to specific areas on your pet’s body. This method is non-invasive and effective in promoting healing, especially for conditions like injuries and post-surgical recovery.
Is Cryotherapy Safe?
Yes, cryotherapy is a safe and well-established treatment when performed by trained professionals. The airflow cryotherapy machine is designed to cool the skin and tissues without causing harm. We closely monitor your pet throughout the treatment to ensure their comfort and safety.

Typically, each cryotherapy session lasts between 15 to 30 minutes. The exact duration will depend on your pet’s needs and the specific area being treated.
Cryotherapy uses a stream of super-cooled air to reduce inflammation, pain and swelling. It does this by causing vasoconstriction, slowing nerve conduction to reduce pain, and limits cellular damage after injury.

Cryotherapy is generally well-tolerated by pets, but like any treatment, it may have some mild side effects. These can include temporary redness or slight discomfort in the treated area. These effects are usually short-lived and should resolve shortly after the session.
No, cryotherapy is not painful. While the cold air may feel a bit intense at first, most pets find the sensation soothing and calming. Any initial discomfort usually fades quickly, and your pet should feel relaxed during and after the treatment.

Airflow cryotherapy has several advantages over traditional contact cryotherapy. Unlike contact cryotherapy, which applies cold directly to the skin, airflow cryotherapy uses advanced technology to provide consistent and controlled cooling, allowing for deeper and more targeted penetration without the risk of skin damage or frostbite, and ensures a more comfortable experience for your pet. It also allows us to treat larger areas at once, which can be more efficient for multi-site conditions.
