Exciting news! From March 2025, we are moving to a bigger and better space at: Sin Ming Plaza, 6 Sin Ming Road, Tower 2 #01-09 Singapore 575585
Land exercises for animal rehabilitation are an important component of physical therapy for pets, especially for those recovering from surgery, injury, or dealing with chronic conditions.
These exercises are designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and overall mobility. The well-being and safety of your beloved pets are of utmost importance to us. We are committed to ensuring that we never ask them to exceed their physical limits or endure any unnecessary stress.
Land exercises may use equipment such as:
• Pole/cone weaving
• Cavaletti
• Balance pads
• Exercise balls
• Inflatable bones and discs
• Wobble boards
• Rocker boards
• Land treadmill
• Crawl tunnel
These exercises are designed to enhance your pet’s strength, proprioception, balance, coordination and flexibility. By engaging in these activities, pets can develop stronger leg and core muscles, which in turn improves their mobility, confidence, and overall well-being.
A set of cones arranged in a pattern through which the animal is guided to weave through.
For stability, non-slip mats would be placed on the floor to ensure that your pet has enough grip.
The repeated action of weaving through the cones will help your pet coordinate their movements, increase their flexibility with the different directions their body needs to turn and assist with lateral spinal flexion.
Here are some examples of rehabilitation with unstable surfaces:
Wobble Boards and Rocker Boards: These are boards mounted on a fulcrum or pivot point, creating an unstable surface. Animals can stand or perform exercises on the board, promoting balance and coordination.

From arthritis to neurological problems, the benefits of the cavaletti poles include the improving proprioception and coordination of the limbs, and minimizing the stiffness of joints in your pet. This form of exercise involves the use of raised poles or obstacles that your pet is guided to walk or step over in a controlled manner.
For stability, non-slip mats would be placed on the floor to ensure that your pet has enough grip, and to help them be confident in performing the exercise.
The cavaletti exercise enables your pet to improve their gait and stride length, enhances flexibility and range of motion, improves proprioception and builds coordination.

Rehabilitation with unstable surfaces involves incorporating surfaces that are not stable or firm into an animal’s rehabilitation program. This can include various tools and equipment designed to challenge and engage the animal’s balance and stability.
Here are some examples of rehabilitation with unstable surfaces:
Balance Pads: These are soft, cushioned pads that provide a slightlyn unstable surface. Animals can stand or perform exercises on these pads, requiring them to engage their core muscles for balance.
Exercise Balls: Large inflatable balls can be used for exercises that involve sitting, standing, or lying on the ball. This challenges the animal’s stability and activates different muscle groups.
Balance Discs: These are inflatable or foam discs that provide an unstable surface for the animal to stand or perform exercises. They can be used to improve proprioception and balance.
Wobble Boards and Rocker Boards: These are boards mounted on a fulcrum or pivot point, creating an unstable surface. Animals can stand or perform exercises on the board, promoting balance and coordination.

Serving a similar purpose to human treadmills, the treadmill is adapted for the unique needs and anatomical considerations of animals. It is known to significantly benefit pets with mobility challenges.
Your pet would be placed on the treadmill with the advised speed and duration in accordance to the animal’s condition. To ensure that the safety of your pet is not compromised, a harness and leash would be worn during the start of this exercise.
The land treadmill enables your pet to enhance their strength, endurance, and balance. This form of exercise helps them recover their natural walking stride through the process of re-learning to walk on a treadmill. Studies have shown being on the treadmill allows your pet to have a significantly better range of motion in their joints compared to when they are normal walking ( E.g. Going for their walks ).
