FAQ – Class 4 Therapeutic Laser

Class 4 laser therapy, also known as high-power laser therapy, is a medical treatment that utilizes lasers to promote tissue healing and pain relief for our furry ones. As it utilizes higher intensity of light, it allows a deeper tissue penetration. This increased penetration is especially beneficial when targeting tissues deep within the body. The therapeutic laser works by stimulating cellular activity, promoting blood circulation, and reduces inflammation which then quickens the healing process and provides pain reduction in our pets

It is very important that this method of treatment is performed by users who are licensed and that the correct specifications of a class 4 laser equipment is used. The exact settings on the machine vary depending on the specific condition and treatment goals.

When performed by trained and experienced personnel, the laser therapy is safe and effective for animals. Only receive laser treatment from authorized users with the N3 license (approved by the NEA).

The duration of a laser therapy session is dependent on the specific condition being treated. As our class 4 therapeutic laser operates at a high power level, it significantly accelerates the treatment process, and results in remarkably fast treatment times. On average, a session can last anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes (depending on the size of the areas being treated). This is very quick, especially when compared to the longer durations required by lower-power lasers to attain comparable results.

1. Increased Blood Flow: It reduces the inflammation in the treated tissues by promoting vasodilation, the widening of blood vessels. Laser therapy is not painful for pets and is considered a comfortable and safe medical treatment option. It is well-tolerated by pets, and in many cases, they find the experience to be relaxing. • Temporary pain and discomfort, skin irritation, mild redness or swelling at the treatment site may be observed but this usually subsides within a few hours to a few days.

• The darkening or lightening of the treated area may happen as this form of treatment can cause skin pigmentation.

• Risk of blistering or burns on the skin may occur if the animal has sensitive skin or if the laser is not correctly calibrated or if it is used improperly. This is why it is essential to have the treatment performed by a skilled and trained professional.
